Beauty is a word that focuses mainly on aesthetics. It’s perceived to be an outward appearance—something tangible and detailed. Beauty is something people watch out for and also go for, it never comes cheap. When beauty is attained without effort, it is seen as rare. Brains on the other hand are the depth of knowledge a person has. A quick study showed that what many women considered as beautiful by just sight are likely to be less brilliant than a woman that isn’t all that appealing to the eyes. The reason is that beautiful women are distracted and made to think that their appearances are all that matter. Life is easy for the beautiful woman, the life of luxury is at her beck and call. Many men are willing to give an arm and a leg to just behold her uncommon beauty. This unending attention at a woman’s prime doesn’t help her concentrate on building mental capital.
For the so-called not-so-beautiful woman, she is left alone and she is likely to go on to be more focused on reaching her goals in life with little or no distractions. She is also likely to have strong work ethics and analytical skills since she is not in the league of getting Randy men to drool over her. This is by no means saying men won’t come her way. The kind of men that would likely approach her are those who have seen her intangible beauty or the kind of men who would rather avoid the unhealthy competition with other men for women who many might just want a woman as a trophy wife.
So when the term beauty with brains is said, it is actually a complement according to the indices above. Such women who are called beauty with brains have weathered the storm of distractions. Such women are goal-getters who have earned respect by avoiding the temptations befitting a beautiful woman like herself.
